A BULAWAYO man attacked his younger sister with bricks for failing to pay back the money she owed him, a city magistrate heard yesterday.
Rocky Woodend (37) of 65 Kingfield Road Queens Park East, was not formally charged with malicious damage to property when he briefly appeared before Bulawayo magistrate, Mrs Tancy Chipumha-Dube.
He was remanded in custody to 23 April.Mr Andrew Marimo for the State told the court that Woodend and the complainant are brother and sister, him being the elder brother.
It is alleged that the complainant, Ms Samanther Fisher, owed Woodend some money. On Wednesday last week, he visited her at her workplace along Fort Street in the city centre.
He is alleged to have demanded his money, but she advised him that she did not have it.Woodend got angry and allegedly picked two bricks.
He allegedly threw the bricks at her intending to hit her, but missed. One of the bricks hit a shop window and shattered it.
A report was made to the police, leading to his arrest. The broken window is valued at US$240.
