A GWERU man got the shock of his life when he found his wife pants down in his matrimonial bedroom with his supervisor at work.
The incident happened on Sunday at around 9pm when the man, Mr Vasco Maseko, found his supervisor at a local upmarket lodge, Mr George Maruta, in a compromising position with his wife in his bedroom at his house in Ridgemond suburb.

Speaking in an interview yesterday, Mr Maseko said he couldn’t believe his eyes on the fateful day when he found his boss in bed with his wife when he arrived from work.

“You know it’s unbelievable and until now, I am still out of words to narrate what I came across in my house,” he said.
Mr Maseko, who stays just next door to his boss, said he later discovered that the illicit affair had been going on for a long time behind his back.

“Mr Maruta stays just next to me after he assisted me in getting the house I am renting and little did I know he had turned a rival suitor,” he said.

Mr Maseko said his boss used to assign him some duties to do at the workplace while he stayed at home on the pretext that he was ill when in fact he wanted him to be away from home so he could be free with his (Maseko’s) wife.

“At times he would go home during lunch hour as he drives and I now understand why he was not inviting me to accompany him despite the fact that we are neighbours,” he said.

Mr Maseko said he did not suspect anything between his boss and his wife until he caught the two red-handed on Sunday.
“It was only after I caught them red-handed that I later learnt that the affair had been going on for a long time. I later realised that the favours I was enjoying from Mr Maruta had something to do with the affair,” he said.

Mr Maseko said after he caught the two lovebirds in bed, he called on neighbours together with Mr Maruta’s wife to witness the heart-breaking incident.

“When I caught them red-handed, I ordered the two to stay in the house while I called neighbours to be witnesses,” he said.
Mr Maseko said after calling his young brother, he then ordered his wife to beat up her lover with a leather belt.

“Mr Maruta who could not stand the beating later bolted but returned a short while and asked me what I wanted as compensation,” he said.

Mr Maseko said because of the state he was in after he discovered the adulterous affair, he told his young brother to talk to Mr Maruta.

“It was then that we discovered that he had brought with him a knife and we then disarmed him and because he was resisting, we assaulted him with open hands,” he said.

Mr Maseko said Mr Maruta later complained that he was no longer able to walk alone after the assault and they then assisted him to get to his house, which he said was just some few yards away.

“He was later taken to hospital where he is reportedly recovering but I think the pains are as a result of the beatings by my wife who was using a leather belt,” he said.

Mr Maseko said the matter had to be reported to the police after officials at the hospital insisted that they could only attend to Mr Maruta after producing a letter from the police.

Efforts to contact Mr Maruta were fruitless yesterday as he had been discharged from the male surgical ward where he was admitted.

When the news crew visited the hospital yesterday evening, nurses at the ward said Mr Maruta had asked to be discharged so that he could look for money to pay for X-rays.

Mr Maruta could however not be found at his house and his mobile phone was not reachable last night.

    3. What baffles my mind is that Maseko had the temerity of allowing his wife “the culprit” to lash Maruta with a leather belt and did not mete out instant justice to the wife. Maseko is a laughing stock to say the least. What was the point of calling people as witnesses?. The illicit love affair would not end and it becomes foolhardy on the part of Maseko to believe that he has dealt with and shamed Maruta. Maseko deeply and urgently need counselling. This also applies to the two “lovebirds” since they are all capable of fixing each other through revenge.

    35. Sooo, did Maseko ask afterward if dinner was ready? Alright alright, the first paragraph is not for nitpickers. we got the message even the fact that poor Soneni meant Ridgemont. hehe.

      Comment by Jabz Khums — July 21, 2010 @ 11:57 pm

    36. Maruta was a supervisor at a lodge where Maseko worked. Maseko found his supervisor in his bedrom in Ridgemont as they were neighbours the whole makes sense.
The whole point is these two decided to have an illicit affair and the Maruta guy was the one running the expenses for Maseko's household.
Maseko was always doing over time to give space to Maurta to have time with his wife where was Maruta 's wife all the time these two were seeing each other? Funny is it not?
