The three accused persons Ndinatseyi Madzvamuse (31), her sister Lee Madzvamuse (33) and her brother Tanatsiwa Madzvamuse (29) appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Mr Shepherd Munjanja on Wednesday last week facing charges of contravening section 3 (1) (a) as read with section 4 (1) of the domestic violence Act, physical abuse.

In the same vein, the husband Edison Mujeyi (34) who is the complainant in the case against the three, appeared before the same court facing similar charges for allegedly assaulting his wife after she followed her to the house of his brother’s wife where she caught him.

The three accused persons were remanded in custody to April 7 while Edison was remanded out of custody to the same date.

The state through the prosecutor Mrs Fiona Denhere told the court that on March 18 this year just after sunset, Ndinatseyi allegedly went to house number 33404 in Entumbane looking for her husband.

On arrival at the house she allegedly found her husband in a compromising position with Mary Zimunhu who was married to her husband’s late brother.

This did not go down well with Ndinatseyi who allegedly started shouting at Mary accusing her of being a prostitute whose business was to snatch other women’s husbands.

Edison allegedly, however, took sides with Mary and started assaulting his wife with a belt and fists several times all over the body before she ran to their house.

Edison allegedly later followed his wife at home and before long he told his wife he was visiting his father and he left.

Ndinatseyi allegedly became suspicious and decided to go and check at Mary’s house where she again found her husband in bed with Mary.

She then allegedly persuaded her husband to go home but he became agitated and started yet again to assault her with open hands, booted feet and a belt all over the body.

He allegedly assaulted her all the way from Mary’s place of residence to house number 32842 in the same suburb where her brother resides.

She was referred to the hospital where she was treated of the injuries she sustained as a result of the assault. She was discharged on the same day.

The following day she allegedly teamed up with her brother and sister and proceeded to her husband’s house where Ndinatseyi knocked on the door and told her husband her brother wanted to talk to him.

Edison, however, allegedly refused to get out of the house. Ndinatseyi and Lee dragged him but he overpowered them and sought refuge in his bedroom.

The two allegedly summoned their brother Tanatsiwa and they followed him into the bedroom with Tanatsiwa armed with a knobkerrie.

They allegedly descended heavily on him assaulting him all over the body with fists and the knobkerrie until he lost consciousness.
He was ferried to hospital in an ambulance in that state, where he was treated and a medical report was compiled.
