A FORM two student at Bulawayo’s Msitheli High School is nursing wounds he sustained after he was allegedly beaten severely by his headmaster using a syjambok late last month, Zimgossip can disclose.
It is alleged that the student had written a vulgar message on a piece of paper but other students dismissed that saying they shared the class with another form and that they were in the morning slot.
“UHeadmaster wabuya eklasini ekuseni wathola kubhalwe inhlamba ephepheni lanamathiselwa phezu kwedesk lakhe.Wahamba laye wasebiza abanye abafana abangusix bambamba yena emtshaya ngemvubu ezibunu futhi etshayelwa into angayaziyo (The headmaster came to our class early in the morning and discovered that a student had written vulgar words on a piece of paper.
He then ordered him out of the class and forced six other students to hold him down while he descended on him),” said a student from the school.
The student’s grandmother, Mrs Leah Sibanda, expressed anger and disappointment at what the headmaster did.
“Indlela amtshaya ngayo ibuhlungu kakhulu kwakungathi utshaya inyamazana yena etshaya umuntu.Wabuya ngekhaya evuvuke izibunu lezi zingakhange-leki esehluleka lokuhamba (The manner in which he was beaten was so painful, it was like he was doing it to an animal yet it was a human being.
When he came home he was unable to walk, as his buttocks were swollen.),” said Mrs Sibanda.She said they rushed him to United Bulawayo Hospitals where the headmaster’s wife is sister-in-charge.
“We took him to the UBH where the headmaster’s wife works and she administered all the treatment that was required. He was given an injection and over fifty tablets,” she said.
Mrs Sibanda said her grandson had already been moved to another class as he was accused of attempting to get the headmaster arrested.
“My grandson was in the first class, now he has been moved to the last class. This is not fair to the child as he is intelligent and this is going to affect him,” said a bitter Mrs Sibanda.
The Headmaster, Mr Kenny Vundla, refused to comment on the issue.“Asivunyelwa ukukhuluma lamaphepha, I am sorry about that (We are not allowed to speak to the press),” said Mr Vundla.
Other parents with children at the school expressed anger at the conduct of the headmaster, adding that he was supposed to lead by example.
“The kids are indeed facing a difficult time at the school as the headmaster is always beating them for failing to pay civies day money. He always uses his sjambok and they are now even afraid to go to school,” said a parent who identified herself as MaNcube.

This has nothing to do with Mugabe, Tsvangirai, Shona or Ndebele. The issue here is the headmaster who overdid it. The headmaster is evil.

Can who ever does the translation do it properly, i grew up in Bulawayo speaking both shona and ndebele, so I know what the grandmother said, is not what is translated in english, be proud of your languages.

For your own information Tendai Hove, I have both shona and ndebele genes so I appreciated both sides and not to be a tribalist like you.
